Hi "Utazasi ajanlatok 2011 nyar Vatikan:"

I don't understand one word on your web site, however, it doesn't look like spam, which is why I approved it. It looks like a tourism site to some place and the article you posted your comment to is about drug tourism in Mexico. Please enlighten my audience and me. I'm curious about the place. Are opiate-based drugs readily available there?

Hi Elgapinglotus:

Give Farmacias Especializadas a phone call 01-800-7155-150 to see if they have your pain pills at pharmacy in a nearby state. Good luck managing your pain!

Thank you for the list of narcotics actually sold in Mexico. I've been in pain management in southeastern mexico for the last 6 months or so, and have apparently single-handedly depleted the Oxycontin supply for the city. (sad that a city of a million-plus people had 10ish boxes of 30 40mg pills.) And of course, they have no clue when they're going to get a new shipment. While oxycontin is my DOC, I'll take anything to kill the pain, so my doctor has now tranferred me over to the Durogesic patches, but at 300$ for a 2 week supply I'm not crazy about them. Now I actually have a list of meds that MIGHT be available, so I can start calling the specialty pharmacies in town, see what they have in stock, and ask the doc for the script. Thanks again.

Yup. I brought my medical records and old prescriptions from U.S. doctors to show to the Mexican doctors. They do expect and appreciate the same respect you would give to an American doctor. The farmacia gave me a hard time even though I had the right script paper filled out. They finally gave me the morphine when the anesthesiologist accompanied me, but only after they called the Secretaria de Salud to verify that the doctor's license was correct and current. Pharmacies in the United States of America don't call the D.E.A. every time they fill a script for a strong narcotic.

Regarding Mexican law, Mexico decriminalized personal possession of very small quantities of marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin on August 21, 2009. See <a href="http://online.wsj.com/article/SB125086054771949269.html" rel="nofollow">WSJ: Mexico Eases Ban on Drug Possession</a>.

Regarding narcotic access in Mexico! Yep, it is so different from the States as to make one krazy! Most of what you've mentioned is valid and correct. I want to add to when traveling to Mexico, bring written prescriptions for all your drugs. They are not going to fill your narcotic rx's from these, BUT it is an 'ice breaker' when talking with a new physician in Mexico. And, to illegally obtain drugs is an offense punishable by hard time in a Mexican jail. This is no JOKE, and no call home will get you off! So, be careful, use caution, and avoid any confrontation with the authorities.
I hope you are frightened by this, because it is real!
